For example, Weetman and Gigas in their paper<sup>[1]<\/sup> state that the forces exerted by the fluid on the impeller are directly transferred to the shaft and ultimately to the support.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n                            <\/div>\n        <\/section>\n                <section applied perpendicular to the shaft.<\/p><p>Simply put, the bending moment equals the product of the lateral hydrodynamic force <strong><em>F<\/em><sub><em>H\u00a0<\/em> <\/sub><\/strong>and the lever arm <strong><em>L<\/em> <\/strong>.
